healthful snacking

We try to eat rather healthfully around here.
Some friends and family think I'm a little too stringent with the kids' diets. Who's to say? My opinion, is that healthfully can be loosely translated to mean

NO SNACKING ON BUTTER!

And now, a word from our should-be sponsors at Cooking Light. :)

Mmmmmm, butter : ) Dont worry
I have a nice stainless sugar bowl that I sometimes leave out on the kitchen counter. I like to have a little in a tea when felling blue (Mr has left for two weeks work in Australia)and when I got out of the shower this morning Miss K had a t-spoon and was eating the sugar. When I asked her if it was a good idea eating the sugar she said "I dont like lemons" Quite confused by this answer I quized a little further. turns out she really wanted an orange and couldnt wait or reach the oranges..........so she grabbed the closest thing, a lemon. Needless to say we have had a variety of talks about taking things of the kitchen counter today : )

AussieMom, I've been laughing all day at that story! Too funny.
Yes, I think Sally would love this little snack. Of course, she would not approve of the white-flour scones I gave him to trade for the butter. :)
