photos removed * EDIT *

I started this blog because photos were easy to upload using Picasa, and I figured it would be a good way to share updates on the family. I admit I probably didn't think things through as many of you, more cautious, more knowing, folks and friends would. This weekend, I was asking a few friends if they ever read the blog, as I've put up some new photos. (Most of them haven't been reading it much, which is fine) but several people questioned the photos online.

Frankly, I figured nobody (even those I really wanted to) would read much of what I had to say, so it was "safe" to put those photos online. Perhaps it still is, but after reading and thinking about it a bit more, I'm not positive. And, I can't live with myself risking my children or family in any way.

So the photos have been discontinued. If I'm able to start a more private, password-protected version, I may do so. In the meantime, I will probably keep the updates posted, since the names are disguised.

thanks for your patience and grace...

*** EDIT April 30: The wise author of Rocks in My Dryer (http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com) had a well-written piece on the whole photo/identity issue. It scared me a lot, but I was glad to have somebody offer some practical ideas. Full link to her entry: http://rocksinmydryer.typepad.com/shannon/2007/04/because_you_can.html
Thanks!

I'm right there with you! I keep our names disguised and don't post photos. I put a google blog counter on my site, and I've been really surprised how many people visit each day from all over the world. (Like, at least 30 people I don't know!) And these are all non-commenting people.

I know a lot of people feel comfortable with names and photos on their blogs, and maybe someday I will be too. Until then, just call me the Llama Momma! :-)

I post photos but it does freak me out a bit. I wonder how you get that google counter...I am seriously curious how many people visit me.
