thirteen places to visit

Most of our family vacations are centered around visiting somebody - generally my parents, who are half a country away from us. Even our mini-vacations are often to visit friends.

We love these trips, and we love the people we see. However, sometimes we fantasize about a vacation where we aren't visiting loved ones - where it's just an adventure for us all.

I was thinking about this recently, and it occurred to me that we have more friends and family than we tend to visit regularly. It would be possible to combine a really wonderful adventure and visit friends and family. Here are thirteen of my possibile destinations with familiar accomodations...
  1. Melba, Australia (my dear friends just moved back here)
  2. Greece (my aunt has a home in a coastal village)
  3. Austria (my aunt has recently moved back here)
  4. Colorado Springs, Colorado (Obi-1's godparents and our dear friends)
  5. western coast of Mexico (Mr. Kenobi's uncle has a new house)
  6. Moorega, Germany (dear friends of mine)
  7. Phoenix, Arizona (a wonderful aunt lives here)
  8. Charlotte, North Carolina (a favorite friend and her wonderful husband)
  9. Venice, Florida (my cousins have a home on the beach)
  10. Honolulu, Hawaii (this might be a stretch, but our old neighbors did say "come visit us!")
  11. Capetown, South Africa (Mr. Kenobi's best friend's home)
  12. Bozeman, Montana (our old stompin' ground, and where Uncle J is finishing up school)
  13. Black Hills, South Dakota (okay, I admit it, we do love visiting my folks at their wonderful cabin!)

Wow... that's an easy list and amazing how many more came to mind! I think we better start packing.

have a great thursday!!
